I have someone helping me and I’ve been working on my game for awhile now actually. I just was confused about the effect programming ; n ;

Its all there in the manual. If you read the material Mishka wrote and dive in to the world of rm2k3 (there are forums with immense amounts of tutorials and little bits and bobs for you to take advantage of!), I’m sure it’ll end up okay. Plus there’s a thread on uboachan’s /fg/ made specifically for help with fangames. There are about 3 excellent effect tutorials on there.

Hey all. It’s been a while and I’ve been weighted down with the literal metric ton of nonsense schoolshit I have to put up with (I have about 3 wekks left. Oh joy), plus I had to restore my computer to factory settings because of viruses, but I want to post a little something.

For some strange reason I’ve noticed a large mass swarm of yume nikki fangames that have been posted. This is okay, because it shows a revival in a near-dead game genre, but it irks me that alot of the developers have absolutely no idea what their doing. That doesn’t mean that every single developer is in the dark, it just means that many of you are complete newcomers to this game engine. So I’ll just post some important things to keep in mind, for both the developers now, and the developers in the future, read up and practice as much as you can! I had about 7 months of RPG maker practice prior to Umbra’s creation. I made beta games in each and every rpg make (save VX Ace. It hadn’t been released). I suggest reading tons of tutorials and just getting used to the engine you think you’re best at using.

I suggest reading alot of the stuff my good friend Mishka wrote. Their are many in-depth game development guides, many even made specifically for Yume Nikki fangames. They can be found here: http://mishkafaulken.com/

Hey guys. It been a while. I just wanna share my art blog. Follow if you really want! i’ll just be reblogging and posting misc. Stuff.

As for the game, its going well. I’ve been flooded with bugs to fix and have been hard at work fixing them up. But, some people over on pixiv have brought something to my attention which i sortof find ridiculous.

So apparently some of our Japanese correspondents are making a big deal over have outside material appear in our fangames. Some of the people have taken a look inside Umbra’s files, and discovered that some of the chipsets/charsets have materials from yume nikki. I didn’t understand because NONE of the YN stuff appeared in the game, but apparently they refuse to validate Umbra as a legit fangame because of this. They also brought up Umbra as well as the looking glass) having materials from pokemon games.

But it’s a themed world so I really dont understand it. Please tell me your thoughts on this.

I just talked to the doctor again. He just says I shouldn’t be doing that much, and that I should sta in bed and rest for a while.

So I’ll just take a little break from the internet and work on Umbra while ‘m in bed resting. Adios you guys. See you in a couple of days. I’ll be resting up.
