Its all there in the manual. If you read the material Mishka wrote and dive in to the world of rm2k3 (there are forums with immense amounts of tutorials and little bits and bobs for you to take advantage of!), I’m sure it’ll end up okay. Plus there’s a thread on uboachan’s /fg/ made specifically for help with fangames. There are about 3 excellent effect tutorials on there.

For some strange reason I’ve noticed a large mass swarm of yume nikki fangames that have been posted. This is okay, because it shows a revival in a near-dead game genre, but it irks me that alot of the developers have absolutely no idea what their doing. That doesn’t mean that every single developer is in the dark, it just means that many of you are complete newcomers to this game engine. So I’ll just post some important things to keep in mind, for both the developers now, and the developers in the future, read up and practice as much as you can! I had about 7 months of RPG maker practice prior to Umbra’s creation. I made beta games in each and every rpg make (save VX Ace. It hadn’t been released). I suggest reading tons of tutorials and just getting used to the engine you think you’re best at using.
I suggest reading alot of the stuff my good friend Mishka wrote. Their are many in-depth game development guides, many even made specifically for Yume Nikki fangames. They can be found here: http://mishkafaulken.com/

As for the game, its going well. I’ve been flooded with bugs to fix and have been hard at work fixing them up. But, some people over on pixiv have brought something to my attention which i sortof find ridiculous.
